GRAND FINALS TOMORROW: Join Us @ 3 PM EST (Saturday, March 6)!!
Hello Change-Makers,
What a fun & wonderful weekend that was!!
We've been raving to everyone we know, but are so incredibly proud of all who had participated at our hackathon last weekend! We ended with 130+ registrants from 15 countries/ 5 continents signing up, with 100+ folks active on our Slack channel. We had 16 final submissions & had an incredibly difficult time picking a top 12. Judges expressed admiration for the excellence in quality, execution & innovation they saw. And at a personal level, we are inspired by your commitment, passon & above all energy. Indeed, we heard few people talk about "winning" which is small beans compared to the bigger prize at play: We are Climate Change-Makers here to fundamentally change the world!
Now, what's next? Those on our Slack channel already know, but for those not on there, we encourage you to join us for the finals, Saturday, March 6 @ 3-6:30 EST. It'll be an event where the teams/ projects will be the stars, with lots of great happenings in between: Register @ climatechangemakers.eventbrite.ca!
And finally, who are our finalists? You will not see them yet in our Project Gallery, but we have:
- Environmental Finalists: Plastic Reducing Vending Machine (K), Dhiray Kapde (P) & Mangrove (S)
- Socio-Cultural Finalists: Food Forests (B), CHOMP (M) & BeCOOLess (L)
- Economic Finalists: Re-Li-Ion(R), Fish N Chips(E) & Solar Up (Q)
- Informational Finalists: Climate Action (F), Firefly (H) & I Forgot! (G)
This was the first or secnd hackathon for s many of you & genuinely do hope you had fun (feedback forms are also availabe on Slack). Whether you made it to the finals, submitted a project or not, we do welcome you all to our finals, at least just to watch! Check the Eventbrite for schedules & more... See you all soon :)
