Less than 10 Hours Left: Let's Get Ready to Rumble... And Some Updates!
Hello Change-Makers,
Just 10 hours left!!! So incredible to see the activity on our Slack & lots of teams/ concepts already starting to form... Cannot wait to see everyone for our Opening Ceremonies @ 6 PM EST.
And to ensure it stays private, expect a Zoom link by12 PM (noon) EST in your e-mail.
And beyond that, here's some reminders/ updates:
- Get yourself on Slack!!: About a third of you folks have still not joined the channel! This will be the main communication tool we use for the weekend, so please complete this pronto... Click here for the link! Each team is also set up with a private slack channel for themselves.
- Complete this Form if You Need a Team: From 8-9 PM today, we will do a team formation. match-making exercise for those who need it, but we need info from you, due by today (Feb 26 @ 7:30 PM EST). Link here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScwHxquZhKjgAyYs4KjGH-UFF0jA6CWZNmgFTFp15PG0kvP7w/viewform (NOTE: There will be no new teams or added members after 12 PM tomorrow, even if you registered on Devpost... Please Slack or do the form before).
- Teams of Two Allowed: We got lots of questions on this & have decided to allow teams of two! That said, in case there are stragglers or people really looking for a team, we may ask if it's okay for them to join those pairs, but we will coordinate with teams if this happens.
- Prize Update: We were initially hoping to have 25% of our prize amounts go towards CanadaHelps gift cards (to donate to a charity of your choice) & 75% of the amount go directly to particiants as gift cards, although logistics with CanadaHelps can no longer work. As such, 100% of the $4,500 CAD in prizes will now go to participants! Hope that gets folks even more pumped :)
- Schedule: View here... The main thing is an opening ceremony today @ 6 PM EST (please try to make this), a team-making session today @ 8 PM (please join if without a team) & final video submissions this Sunday @ 8 PM EST. And lots & lots of awesome optional workshops in between!
